We begin the process with a consultation visit with our San Francisco Dentists. You and your dentist will discuss your options and your expectations. Once you've settled on Lumineers, your dentist will take a series of impressions. Our lab will use these impressions to custom create your new Lumineers, expertly matching them to your existing teeth. A full-color palette is available, matching the shade of the Lumineer to your enamel.

The Lumineers Procedure

On your next visit to our office, your dentist will carefully fit the porcelain shell in place. Final checks will be made on the fit, the shape, and the color. Once you are both are satisfied, the Lumineer is bonded over your tooth. Since no grinding or shaping is required, this process is quick and painless. Best of all, the process is instant - no unsightly temporary covers needed. Your new smile is ready to be unveiled to the world.

After Your Procedure

Since placing the Lumineer does not require any drilling or shots, there should be little to no discomfort following the procedure. It may take a few days to adjust to the feel of your new teeth, but otherwise, your new smile is good to go.

Lumineers require no special care beyond maintaining good oral hygiene habits. Be sure to keep your teeth healthy and clean, and schedule your regular dental checkups at Pacific Heights Dental. With proper care, your Lumineers can last 20 years or more.

If at some point you choose to remove your Lumineers, the underlying tooth is still whole. Unlike traditional veneers, this process is entirely reversible. Although, once you see your new look, we doubt you'll ever want to go back.
